Green Valley Baptist: Youth Evangelism Conference

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” | 2 Corinthians 5:20

Evangelism means to tell others about the good news of the hope found in Jesus Christ. It is the very heart-beat of the church and of the Christian faith. The problem is, most Christians know they are supposed to evangelize, but most Christians don’t. Part of the reason for this is that the average Christian does not feel equipped to evangelize! That’s why on September 10-11th, we are spending a weekend completely focused on both learning and putting into practice evangelism. The Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) is sponsored by the Southern Nevada Baptist Association and is hosted this year by us—Green Valley Baptist Church! This means that several other student ministries from our valley will be joining us for this special weekend.

We will have a special guest worship leader named Isaac Pittman as well as a familiar guest speaker for our night sessions–Pastor Ben Day! If you don’t know Pastor Ben, he was the Student Pastor at GVBC before Pastor Matt and is now the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of San Francisco. At the YEC, we will have several opportunities for you to worship together with other students from the Las Vegas Valley, learn together about evangelism in breakout sessions, hear fantastic messages about evangelism from Pastor Ben, and on Saturday afternoon, we’re going to Cowabunga Bay! The cost will be $20 for each student, but if you can’t make it because of this cost, don’t let that stop you from coming. PLEASE reach out to Pastor Matt if the cost is an issue and we can make it work for you to come! We intentionally canceled Summit on Sep. 12th because we want EVERY student to come to YEC!! We can’t wait, see you then!
